HOSP is for Hospitality Operators, Staff & Patrons.

COVID-19 dealt a massive blow to every facet of the hospitality industry: to the owners and staff who rely upon restaurants for their livelihoods and to the clientele who frequent these beloved businesses.

A successful reopening is one that is both safe and economically viable. That’s why we developed HOSP: a multi-tiered online training for operators, staff, and patrons of foodservice establishments and bars. We combed through global, national, and local guidelines to provide teams with a clear set of best practices for re-opening and operating in today’s new reality. Amidst constant change, our aim is to eliminate guesswork for those working in hospitality by offering a solid, informed starting point. In doing so, we’re collectively instilling consumer confidence and fostering the economic (re)development of our industry.

How It Works

Once you complete the HOSP Manager training module, your establishment can become a HOSP member. Membership is free of charge for any organization and designed to help you indicate to your team, guests, and the city that you’re with us in the commitment to a safe reopening across the hospitality industry.

  1. Apply to take the HOSP Manager training. We’ll share access within 1 business day.

  2. Watch the full training module (~1 hour).

  3. Sign the BRaCE Pledge.

  4. Become a HOSP member via the manager training portal. Membership is free of charge, and you’ll receive an official certificate, signage, window decal, and menu graphics for use at your establishment.

partnerS

The HOSP training modules offer a holistic approach to safety and wellness in this new era. We are grateful to our partners, HEARD Cooperative, BRaCE for COVID-19, and Shift Change, for their collaboration and expertise.

HEARD Cooperative (Hospitality Employees' Active Research Development) was formed in response to the COVID-19 crisis as a legislative advocacy group representing the service, hospitality, & nightlife ecosystem. HEARD follows a participatory action research model, and all their work is done by people living and working within those industries.

BRaCE for COVID-19 (Business Resilience and Community Education) was founded to protect and empower the small businesses that New Orleans prides itself on. BRaCE is a group of Tulane medical students and an internal medicine physician faculty advisor with the mission to help businesses safely reopen in this changing business and public health landscape. In addition to creating and distributing their quick tips guide, they also offer (free) in-person or virtual personalized consultations to help businesses navigate the challenges of implementing safety policies in their unique space in order to protect customers, employees, and the City of New Orleans.

Shift Change is a service industry advocacy non-profit. It was founded with a focus on sexual violence prevention in the industry, but has since broadened its mission statement.
