Do you consider your organization to be an equitable place to work? (Why or why not?) What supports are in place for your employees?: Yes. We believe Willie Mae’s should be a place where everyone has an opportunity to succeed, grow, and feel respected. As a family-owned business with roots in New Orleans dating back to 1957, we value diversity, inclusion, teamwork, and treating every team member with dignity and respect.
We strive to create a workplace where employees are evaluated based on their performance, work ethic, attitude, and commitment to hospitality—not on who they are or where they come from. We believe every position, from the kitchen to the dining room and management, plays an important role in our success.
We support our employees through hands-on training, clear expectations, opportunities for professional growth, open communication with management, team-based support, and ongoing coaching and feedback. We also encourage employees to speak up, ask questions, and bring concerns to management so that issues can be addressed promptly and fairly.
Most importantly, we want our employees to feel that they are part of the Willie Mae’s family, not simply employees. Our goal is to build a culture where people feel welcomed, respected, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
