Bananas Foster

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ea bananas, ripe

  • 60 g butter

  • 100 g brown sugar

  • 60 g dark rum

Directions

  1. Split the bananas into quarters, one cut lengthwise, one cut in the opposite direction. 

  2. Melt the butter and the brown sugar in a sauté pan until the sugar starts to melt. 

  3. Add the bananas cut side down and cook until they start to take on color.

  4. Flip over and repeat. 

  5. Deglaze and flambe with the rum. 

  6. Turn off the heat and swirl the pan until a sauce forms.

  7. Serve over ice cream.
